Advance voting abroad for the European Parliament elections in Denmark on 9. June 2024

On Sunday 9 June 2024, elections will be held for Danish members to the European Parliament.

Danish citizens residing/located in Portugal can cast their advance vote at the embassy in Lisbon or the consulates in Faro, Porto, Funchal and Ponta Delgada, as well as at the Consulate General in Praia, Cape Verde. Here you will find contact details for the embassy and consulates.

Please note that you must book an appointment by telephone or e-mail in order to be able to vote, which can take place on all weekdays, at the embassy between 10.00 and 13.00 and at the consulates, depending on their opening hours.

When voting, a valid passport or driver's license must be presented.

As the votes must be sent physically to Denmark and arrive before election day, the deadline for submitting a vote is Friday 24 May 2024.

You can vote for a party or a candidate standing in the election.

From Friday 26 April 2024 at the latest, you can find an overview of the parties and candidates  on the website of the Ministry of the Interior and Health: valg.im.dk.

If you cast your vote abroad, you cannot turn up on election day in Denmark and vote.

Your advance vote will be sent by post to the municipality you have indicated on the voting envelope.
