In a series of articles on welfare, immigrants, business, entrepreneurship and creativity, the Economist explores how Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden have "unleashed a huge amount of creativity and become world leaders in reform."

CORRUPTION PERCEPTIONS INDEX 2012 by Transparency International finds Denmark the least corrupt country in the world. Portugal is number 34.

Søren Kierkegaard's 200th Birthday

As the celebrated Danish existentialist philosofer Søren Kirkegaard turns 200, Portugal's National Library hosts several events in his honour.

Firstly, a book launch with his first major book "Either - Or" (in Danish "Enten - Eller", and Portuguese "Ou - Ou") from 1843. Previously unreleased in Portugal.

Secondly, from September the 19th there will be an exhibition on Kirkegaard's life, person and works.
