Application for residence and work permit
If you wish to apply for a Danish residence and work permit, the procedure depends on which type of permit you apply for. A series of application forms has been developed for specific types of applications.
Please consult the following link from newtodenmark.dk
Before submitting the application to the Embassy, you or your employer (if request for work permit) must create a Case Order ID and must normally pay a fee. The Case Order ID must be stated in the application.
The fee is a case processing fee. This means that the fee covers the processing of your application. Consequently, the fee will not be refunded if your application is processed - regardless of whether you are granted a permit or your application is turned down because you do not meet the requirements. Similarly, the fee will not be refunded if you withdraw your application.
At the Embassy in Lisbon an additional fee for handling the application is : 192€.

In connection with applying for a residence and work permit , your biometric features (facial image and fingerprints) will be recorded and stored on a chip on your residence card. If you fail to have your biometric features recorded, your application will be rejected. This means that your application will not be processed.
When handing in the documentation at the Embassy you will be able to record your biometric features at the same time.
Exceptions (situations where biometric data are not necessary):
- Children under the age of 18 only applying for a permit (and not applying for a residence card)
- Applications for Greenland and the Faroe Islands
- Family reunification for Danish nationals under EU law
For further information please consult the website of newtodenmark.dk or contact the Embassy.
Kindly note that you have to book an appointment prior to attendance.
