Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen in Lisbon: Portugal and Denmark discuss visions for the European Union

The Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Anders Samuelsen, visited Lisbon to meet the Portuguese Foreign Minister, Augusto Santos Silva.The ministers discussed the future of the EU and how to strengthen bilateral cooperation between our two countries.

In a joint press conference The Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Anders Samuelsen and the Portuguese Foreign Minister, Augusto Santos Silva the Ministers expressed satisfaction with their dialogue in which several areas of convergence had been identified, among others in the negotiations for UKs withdrawal from the EU, the future of the EU, CETA ratification, and NATO. Bilaterally, a number of areas for potential bilateral cooperation had also been identified.

During the visit, the Minister also enjoyed Lisbon’s city line from the beautiful Tejo on the ferryboat Trafaria Praia, together with State Secretary José Apolinário, national authorities and representatives from Danish businesses in Portugal. The event was co-organized by Svitzer/Maersk in Portugal.
