Frank Jensen was in Lisbon to talk diabetes prevention in big cities and promote energy-efficient solutionsThe Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Frank Jensen, came on a official visit to Lisbon on Sunday, April 19, and Monday, April 20, to talk energy and health solutions.
The Lord Mayor took part in an official event related to health, including the prevention of diabetes, and to the promotion of climate and energy efficient initiatives.
The Lord Mayor opened together with the President of the Gulbenkian, Deputy Minister of Health and the "health mayors" from Lisbon and Porto, a seminar on diabetes prevention in cities in the GULBENKIAN FOUNDATION, Portugal's largest private charitable foundation. The seminar was organised by Novo Nordisk and the Embassy in collaboration with the Gulbenkian. The seminar had a broad participation of scientists, together with representatives from hospitals and municipalities from all over Portugal.
The Lord Mayor also opened together with the Portuguese Secretary of State for Energy and the Director of the Portuguese water company EPAL exhibition Copenhagen Solutions, dedicated to Copenhagen's ambition to become CO2 neutral by 2025, later that day. Following the opening Frank Jensen participated together with the Portuguese Minister and state secretary in a networking lunch for the promotion of cooperation on energy efficiency in the Ambassador's residence.
The event was attended by Portuguese energy companies and state actors as well as 6 Danish companies: Grundfos, Danfoss, AVK, DHI, Rockwool and SETH (MT Højgaard).
The Lord Mayor met bilaterally with Lisbon's new mayor since April 6, Fernando Medina.
