The Danish Embassy in Lisbon covers not only Portugal, but also Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde and São Tomé e Príncipe. On April 3rd 2015 the Danish Ambassador, Michael Suhr, went to São Tomé e Príncipe to hand over his credentials to President Manuel Pinto da Costa. Most of the government was present at the beautiful ceremony.
During the visit the Ambassador held bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Economy, Infrastructure and Energy to exchange views on possible further bilateral cooperation in the areas of tourism / dredging for beaches and maritime / harbour development plans.
The Ambassador also had the chance to experience São Tomé e Príncipe at first hand himself, as he travelled around the islands and learned about the important cocoa production and met with the only chocolate producer Claudio Corallo.
During the visit the Ambassador gave interviews to the local press.
